Trauma Counselling · Lancing
Trauma Counselling for Lancing and the surrounding area, in person or online. Lancing, with its long shingle beach and the landmark chapel of Lancing College, lies west along the coast. From my room in nearby Hove I offer a calm, confidential space to do this work.

In and around Lancing
Lancing is home to Lancing College, with its landmark chapel, and to Brighton & Hove Albion's American Express Elite Football Performance Centre training ground.
Life in Lancing
Lancing runs along the coast west of the Adur, its long shingle beach and the tranquil Widewater Lagoon backed by the streets of North and South Lancing. High above, the great chapel of Lancing College crowns the Downs, a landmark seen for miles around. It is a quiet, unpretentious seaside community, popular with families and those who like living between the sea and the hills. Distance from the city can bring a sense of being a little apart, which can weigh on anyone going through a hard time. A confidential counselling room east along the coast in Hove offers a private space to talk, and online sessions keep support close when travelling is difficult.

Trauma counselling here is gentle and led by you, drawing on methods designed for trauma including the Human Givens Rewind Technique, so a difficult memory is returned to ordinary recall.
The approach is the same wherever you come from, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods, what each session covers and fees, on the main trauma counselling page and on how I work.
Sessions take place in a private, comfortable room at Intergen House on Western Road in central Hove, held to the strict BACP confidentiality you would expect. We begin with a free fifteen-minute call to check we are a good fit, and the same sessions are available by secure video if travelling is difficult or you would simply prefer it.
From Lancing it is a twenty to twenty-five minute drive east along the A259 to Hove, or a short train journey on the main coastal line, with Lancing Station running frequent services through Shoreham and Portslade to Hove. The calm of Lancing's beach and lagoon does not keep past experiences from resurfacing; trauma can return as flashbacks, hypervigilance or numbness whatever the quiet around you. My room is east along the coast in Hove, and secure video sessions bring the same steadiness home when travelling feels like too much.
