It is. Daily use for years shapes sleep, motivation and mood so gradually that the baseline moves without you noticing, and 'only' usually means it has never been examined. Bringing it does not oblige you to stop; it simply gets it looked at properly.
What does it cost, and what if I cannot pay?
Sessions are £80 / 60 min, £100 / 90 min or £120 / 120 min, paid individually, and the first 15 minutes are free. If that is out of reach, Rotherham Alcohol and Drug Service costs nothing, takes self-referrals and can be used instead or in the meantime.
Can I have counselling as well as treatment from the local service?
Yes, and running the two alongside each other makes good sense. The treatment side handles medication, structure and physical health; I work on why the pull returns, what it is standing in for, and how to hold the rest of your life steady while things change around it.
Is this separate from the NHS?
