In and around Tamworth
Life in Tamworth
Tamworth empties out on a weekday morning. A large share of the town is out on the road before eight, and the people who stay behind hold everything else together. Then there are the households working the other way round, weekends and school holidays at Ventura Park or out at Drayton Manor, so days off never quite land on the same day. Couples in Glascote, Amington and Stonydelph often describe the same thing: two people doing their jobs faultlessly and barely meeting. Trust takes a knock in that kind of gap. A message seen on a phone, a debt that was not mentioned, a friendship that went further than it should have. By the time it surfaces, the distance has been there a while.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The approach does not change with the postcode, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods and what each session covers, on relationship counselling in detail, alongside session lengths and fees and professional standards and registration.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
All sessions are by secure video, which fits a town where so much of the day is spent somewhere else. Bradley works from Hove, so there is no appointment to reach at the end of a long drive back. Some couples join from home together in the evening; others connect separately, one from the house and one from a parked car outside work. Where trust is the subject, being in your own space rather than a strange building tends to make honesty easier.

Relationship Counselling in Tamworth
Repair work is a large part of what couples here want. Something has come out, or been half-admitted, and neither of you knows what to do with the days since. That is workable, but it takes structure rather than another late-night conversation that ends in the same place. We separate the three things that get tangled together: what happened, what it meant, and whether this can be rebuilt. Both people get to speak without being cut off. Distance and low mood bring couples here just as often. Recorded depression on GP registers in the county stood at 15.7% of patients aged 18 and over in 2024/25, above the England average of 14.3%, and a partner's flat months change a household long before anyone calls it depression. Attending alone is entirely reasonable. Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Talking Therapies takes self-referrals for individual anxiety or low mood, and STaRS is the local drug and alcohol service where drinking has become part of the difficulty.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Tamworth questions
It is often exactly the right moment. You do not need to have decided whether to stay. Sessions can be used to work out what happened and what each of you wants, which is a better basis for any decision than the state you are both in now.
£80 / 60 min, £100 / 90 min, £120 / 120 min, and the price is the same for one person or two. After something difficult has come out, 90 or 120 minutes often works better than an hour. That opening 15-minute conversation carries no charge whatsoever.
That service is for individuals with anxiety or depression, referred by themselves and free at the point of use. It does not cover work between two partners. If your own mood has taken a hit alongside the relationship, using both routes at once makes good sense.
Yes, and they are in demand, so it is worth asking early. Because there is no journey at either end, a session can begin shortly after you get in. Some people prefer to log on from the car before coming through the door at all.
That works fine. Two separate connections in one session is a normal arrangement here, particularly where weekend or shift work means you are rarely in the same room at the same hour. What matters is that both of you have somewhere private.
Because sessions are online, appointments can often be arranged for early mornings, evenings or other times that fit around commutes into Birmingham or beyond. You join together from home, so there is no extra travel on top of days already shaped by the journey to and from work.
Online relationship counselling for Tamworth couples has no waiting list. We open with a free 15-minute consultation, and once a weekly time suits you both, sessions can start soon after. Whether home is in Glascote, Amington or Wilnecote, it is all arranged by video.
Tamworth couples can self-refer free to NHS Talking Therapies, though waits are common. Private sessions with me are £80 for 60 minutes, 100 for 90 and 120 for two hours, after a free 15-minute consultation. Many choose private work to be seen sooner.
As a commuter town, Tamworth sees many partners working away by day, so online suits couples well. One might join from home in Bolehall while the other logs in from the office, and evening appointments outside the nine-to-five are often available.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
