Online Relationship Counselling · Sheffield
Online relationship counselling for Sheffield, by secure video. From a base in Hove I work with people across Sheffield, from the centre and Kelham Island to the streets around the Peak District edge, with the same BACP-registered, confidential support as an in-person session, and no journey.

In and around Sheffield
Life in Sheffield
Sheffield is a green city on the edge of the Peak, proud of its steel heritage and shaped by its loss. A large student population, an economy rebuilt after heavy industry, and real contrasts between leafy and hard-pressed neighbourhoods all shape the pressures people carry.
Sheffield spreads across seven hills between the rivers Don and Sheaf, England's greenest large city and the only one with a national park inside its boundary, the Peak District rises straight from its western suburbs. The steel and cutlery that made its name have given way to the two universities and the advanced manufacturing works out towards Rotherham, while the old works around Kelham Island now house bars and studios. The Supertram loops through the centre past the Crucible and the Winter Garden, and leafy Ecclesall and Nether Edge climb towards Crookes and Walkley. Meadowhall sits to the east by the M1, but the pull for many is west, up onto the moors and the gritstone edges.
Where the old industries have gone and there is a strong culture of just getting on with things, online keeps support discreet and within reach however stretched the week.
Sheffield hosts the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Northern General and Royal Hallamshire hospitals); its steel heritage survives in firms such as Sheffield Forgemasters.
Areas covered
Wherever you are in Sheffield, the work is the same, a calm, confidential space shaped around you.
Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The approach is the same wherever you live, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods, what each session covers and fees, on the main relationship counselling page and on how I work.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link held to the same strict BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call to check we are a good fit, you join each session from any private space using a phone, tablet or laptop, no software to install, no waiting room and no journey at either end.
I work from a base in Hove and see people in Sheffield online, by secure video call, rather than in person. That means the hills and the tram never come into it, you can meet from home or a quiet room, and we keep a steady weekly time that fits around work, study or family without a journey across the city. Sessions come to you wherever you can talk privately.

Relationship Counselling in Sheffield
Sheffield life is spread across its seven hills, and couples here often feel pulled in different directions, shifts at the hospitals or the advanced manufacturing works, study at one of the two universities, the climb home to Crookes or Nether Edge. The everyday logistics can crowd out the conversations that keep a partnership close. Relationship counselling offers an unhurried hour to reconnect and be heard. I work with couples and individuals across Sheffield by video from Hove, so the hills and the tram never come into it, you both join from home, or wherever each of you can speak freely, at a time that fits your week.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Sheffield questions
Yes. I work with people right across Sheffield, from the centre and Kelham Island outwards, and anywhere else in Yorkshire & North East, by secure video, no need to travel to Hove, and just as confidential as meeting in the room.
Yes. A great deal can change when one person shifts the pattern; you do not need to attend as a couple to do useful work.
Yes. Online makes it easy for couples in different places, or juggling childcare, to attend together.
No. We look at the pattern the two of you create together and where it gets stuck, not at who is to blame.
Because everything is online from Hove, we are not tied to clinic hours, so we can find a slot that catches you both even around awkward rotas at the hospitals or the works. You each join from home when the timing finally lines up.
Usually within a week or two of a free 15-minute consultation. I work from Hove and see Sheffield couples securely online, from Ecclesall to Hillsborough, so there is no local waiting list and no need to find a room or parking together in the city.
Couples often pick the 90-minute session at GBP 100, or 60 minutes at GBP 80. Relate and the NHS offer lower-cost help in Sheffield but frequently with a wait, whereas private online sessions let us begin sooner and hold a dependable weekly time that fits both of you.
Yes. As we meet by video, you can join together from home in Sheffield or from two separate places when one of you is away. I keep some evening appointments too, so sessions need not clash with shifts or long days across the city.
No, I'm on the south coast in Hove and work with Sheffield clients over secure video. Plenty of people prefer that: there's no trip into the centre or out to the university, and you can talk from wherever feels private, whether that's home in Crookes or Nether Edge or a quiet corner elsewhere.
Yes. Working online means term times, placements and trips home don't interrupt things, we can carry on by video wherever you are. It's worth knowing I'm a private counsellor, separate from the university's own wellbeing services, which you're also free to draw on.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
