Online Relationship Counselling · Hastings
Online relationship counselling for Hastings, by secure video. From a base in Hove I work with people across Hastings, from the Old Town and the Stade to the streets around the fishing beach, with the same BACP-registered, confidential support as an in-person session, and no journey.

In and around Hastings
Life in Hastings
Insecure work does something corrosive to a couple over time. In the Old Town, in Ore, and along the streets of Central St Leonards there are households where both people are self-employed, or seasonal, or holding two jobs that never overlap, and the conversation about money never actually finishes. The creative and arts community here is real and sustaining and does not pay reliably. Winter is long once the visitors have gone. Couples who manage perfectly well in July find December harder, because there is more time together and less of everything else. None of that is a character flaw in either of you. It is a set of conditions that makes the ordinary repair work between two people much harder to get round to.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
Because the work itself is the same wherever you live, the detail sits in one place rather than all of them: the relationship counselling page sets out the methods, how sessions run and what they cost covers the practicalities, and qualifications, registration and ethics covers accountability.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
There is no room here; Bradley is in Hove and sessions run by secure video. Getting along the coast for an appointment elsewhere is a serious undertaking, and online removes that from the calculation entirely. You can sit together with one laptop or join from two places if one of you is working. Evenings are usually easiest. If your partner is unwilling, or does not know you are asking, you can still begin.

Relationship Counselling in Hastings
People come for relationship counselling here with a mixture of the ordinary and the difficult. The ordinary is that you have stopped talking and started managing each other. The difficult is whatever has grown in that gap: drinking that began as a way through a slow winter, an affair, a resentment carried for years and never said in one piece. Anxiety runs above average across this area, with 24.1% of adults reporting a high anxiety score in 2022/23 against 23.8% for England, and worry at that pitch makes couples brittle with one another. We slow things down and look at what each of you is trying to protect. Health in Mind, the East Sussex NHS Talking Therapies service, takes self-referrals, and Change Grow Live runs the STAR service from a Hastings hub at Thrift House if drink has become part of it.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Private sessions with me usually mean you can start sooner and stay with the same counsellor throughout; I am glad to work alongside any NHS or GP support you already have.

This is not a crisis service. If anyone is in immediate danger call 999. For urgent mental health support, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option. The Samaritans are free, day or night, on 116 123, or text SHOUT to 85258.
Hastings questions
They are £80 / 60 min, £100 / 90 min and £120 / 120 min, paid one session at a time with nothing committed in advance. Some couples take a fortnightly hour through the winter and weekly in better months. The first 15-minute conversation costs nothing and is not an assessment.
Health in Mind, the East Sussex NHS Talking Therapies service, is free and you can refer yourself without a GP. It is aimed at anxiety and low mood rather than couples work, so joint sessions may not be what is available, but it is a genuine option for either of you individually.
It can be worked with, and it usually needs naming rather than tiptoeing round. Change Grow Live runs the STAR service from a Hastings hub at Thrift House for the substance side. Relationship work alongside that looks at what the drinking is doing between the two of you.
Before December, if you can. Beginning during the hardest stretch means doing the work in the middle of the storm rather than having something already in place. If money makes that difficult, a fortnightly hour started now is better than a weekly one started in January.
Usually a week or two after the free 15-minute call, which most people get within a few days. There is no referral, no assessment and nothing to join. Where your work is seasonal, it is worth mentioning on that call so we pick an hour that will still exist in three months.
We can talk openly about what feels manageable. Because sessions are online there are no travel costs, and you both join from home. The aim is to make a steady, private space to work on your relationship genuinely accessible, rather than something out of reach in a town where support can be stretched.
Usually within a week. There is no waiting list, so after a free 15-minute consultation we book a first session to suit you. It is held securely online, joined from home in the Old Town, St Leonards or Ore, so being a distance from larger towns places nothing in the way.
Sessions are £80 for 60 minutes, £100 for 90 minutes and £120 for 120 minutes, after a free 15-minute consultation. NHS Talking Therapies in Sussex is free but can involve a waiting list, whereas private work with Bradley lets the two of you choose when to start.
Yes. With seasonal and irregular work common across Ore and Silverhill, online sessions are joined from home, or from two locations if needed, with evening slots available. We set a regular time that flexes with the seasons so the work does not stall in a lean month.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
