In and around Worcester
Life in Worcester
Worcester is a city that looks like it is coping. Cathedral, cricket at New Road, decent schools, streets in Barbourne and Battenhall where nothing appears to be going wrong. That surface has a cost, and couples here often carry a difficulty for a year or two longer than they need to because admitting it feels out of keeping with the place. Meanwhile one of you is out of the county for eleven hours a day and the other holds the house together, or you both work and the diary is the only conversation you have. In St John's and Warndon, as anywhere else, the arguments are usually about money, time and who noticed what. The setting simply makes them quieter.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The approach does not change with the postcode, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods and what each session covers, on everything on relationship counselling, alongside how sessions run and what they cost and how to check my registration.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Sessions are online, by secure video, wherever you both are. Bradley works from Hove, so there is nothing in the city to walk into and no chance of sitting opposite somebody you know. Couples join together from home, or separately when one of you is working away for the week. A commuting partner can log on from a hotel or a parked car and still be in the same session. Evenings are available, which matters when the working day already takes the daylight.

Relationship Counselling in Worcester
The most common reason couples in Worcester get in touch is not an affair or a crisis. It is that the two of you have stopped being curious about each other and have been polite about it for months. Sometimes the trigger is one partner's low mood. Recorded depression on GP registers in the county stood at 16.7% of patients aged 18 and over in 2024/25, above the England average of 14.3%, and a partner's flat year reshapes a household well before anyone puts a name to it. In sessions we slow things down enough for both of you to be heard properly, look at what has been assumed rather than agreed, and work out what is repairable. You can come alone; a great many people do. NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Talking Therapies takes self-referrals for individual anxiety or low mood, and Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind is a local source of support alongside.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Private sessions with me usually mean you can start sooner and stay with the same counsellor throughout; I am glad to work alongside any NHS or GP support you already have.

Worcester questions
Very. In a city that presents well, people often wait until things are severe before speaking to anyone. Nothing about your situation has to be dramatic to be worth an hour, and the comparison with the neighbours is rarely a reliable measure of anything.
£80 / 60 min, £100 / 90 min or £120 / 120 min, and the rate does not change when two of you attend. Ninety minutes is the usual choice for couples because an hour can go quickly with two people talking. There is nothing to pay for the introductory 15-minute call.
That service works with individuals on anxiety and depression and takes self-referrals, so it is a good route for one person's mood. It does not do relationship work with both partners. Running the NHS route alongside private couples sessions is common and entirely sensible.
Later evening slots exist, and because there is no travelling to do, a session can start not long after the front door goes. Some couples prefer a weekend morning instead, when neither person is running on the end of a working day.
It can be. Sessions are not automatically an attempt to keep a couple together. They are often used to work out honestly whether there is something to rebuild, and where there is not, to separate with less damage, particularly where children are involved.
Very. In a settled city where things are expected to look fine, many couples hold a calm surface over real difficulty. There is no need to keep that up here. Sessions are online and confidential, so you can be honest from the privacy of home, with no one nearby the wiser.
Online relationship counselling for Worcester couples has no waiting list. We open with a free 15-minute consultation, and once a weekly time suits you both, sessions can start soon after. Whether home is in St John's, Barbourne or Battenhall, it is all arranged by video.
Worcester couples can self-refer free to NHS Talking Therapies, though waits are common. Private sessions with me are £80 for 60 minutes, 100 for 90 and 120 for two hours, after a free 15-minute consultation. Many choose private work to be seen sooner.
Partners can join from separate places. One might log in from home in Warndon while the other connects from work, and evening appointments outside the nine-to-five are often available, which helps busy couples across the city and its riverside centre.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
Also available online across Midlands: Gloucester, Cheltenham, Birmingham. See all of Midlands.
