In and around Stirling
Life in Stirling
Stirling is small and sharply divided. Bridge of Allan and Cambusbarron look one way; Raploch and Cornton look another, and the distance between them is a few minutes by car. Couples here come from both sides of that, and often from both sides within one relationship, which brings its own quiet tension about money, family and what counts as normal. Add central-belt commuting, which takes an hour off each end of the working day, and a university city where term dictates the rhythm of everything. Two people can spend a year passing each other in a hallway and calling it a busy patch.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The approach does not change with the postcode, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods and what each session covers, on the relationship counselling page, alongside how I work and my BACP registration.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Bradley is in Hove and there is no room in Stirling, so couples work happens by secure video. In a city this compact that privacy counts for something. Nobody sees the car outside a particular door. Practically, it also means an appointment does not require the commute to be over first: you take the hour from home the moment you are in, and if one of you is travelling, you join from wherever you each happen to be that evening.

Relationship Counselling in Stirling
The pressures people describe here are ordinary and cumulative. Long days, money that does not go as far as it used to, and a relationship which has been getting the leftovers for years. Sometimes there is a specific breach, an affair or a betrayal of trust, and the question is whether repair is possible; often there is nothing so definite, only distance. We look at how the two of you actually communicate: the assumptions, the tone, the moment a conversation turns, and how you come back afterwards. Where a partner's drinking or low mood is part of the strain, that is worked with as it affects you both. Individuals are welcome. A referral from your GP opens NHS psychological therapies, NHS inform holds self-help you can rely on, and Breathing Space answers free on 0800 83 85 87.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Stirling questions
It often matters more than couples expect, particularly around money, family obligation and what each of you assumes a household should look like. None of that is a flaw. Making the assumptions visible, rather than arguing about the symptoms, is usually where the useful work begins.
There is one fee per session however many attend: £80 for sixty minutes, £100 for ninety and £120 for two hours. Most couples find ninety minutes more useful, since an hour can vanish into the first topic. Nothing is booked until after a free 15-minute consultation between the three of us.
Your GP can refer you to NHS psychological therapies, which is the Scottish route and not a self-referral service. NHS inform carries self-help worth using while you wait for an appointment, and Breathing Space is free on 0800 83 85 87 in the evenings and through the night.
Usually with the shape of the week rather than with feelings. What the two of you actually have, in hours, and what has been quietly given up. From there the conversation about resentment becomes much easier, because it stops being an accusation and becomes a shared problem.
We can look at what it has done between you, which is the part relationship work reaches. For the drinking itself, the Forth Valley Recovery Service (Change Grow Live) runs hubs in the Stirling area, and your GP can advise. You can begin without him if necessary.
Yes. Because we meet by secure video, we can find a time that works around your travel, including evenings from home. There is no appointment to reach across town, which makes keeping a shared slot far easier when your days already go on the commute.
Usually within a week or two. We begin with a free 15-minute consultation, then book a first session that suits you both. Everything is by secure video across Stirling and its villages, so there is no waiting list and no local room to be seen going into.
Sessions are £80 for an hour, £100 for 90 minutes and £120 for two hours, after a free 15-minute consultation. NHS Forth Valley rarely offers dedicated couples work and waits can be long, so many Stirling couples choose private online sessions to start sooner and more privately.
Yes. There is no local waiting room to sit in and no one to pass on the street, since sessions run by secure video from home. Evening slots suit central-belt commuters, and if one of you is in Glasgow or Edinburgh, you can join from two places.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
