Online Relationship Counselling · Lincoln

In and around Lincoln
Life in Lincoln
Distance does quiet damage to a partnership, and around Lincoln there is a great deal of it. One of you may work away for stretches, or drive an hour each way to a site, or keep hours set by an engineering shift rather than by the evening. The county is large, flat and thinly served, so seeing anybody about anything means planning a journey. Couples in Ermine, Birchwood and Bracebridge often describe a marriage that functions perfectly well by text message and has not had an unhurried conversation in a year. Then something small goes wrong and it turns out neither of you knows how to start the difficult version of talking.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The approach does not change with the postcode, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods and what each session covers, on the full relationship counselling page, alongside how sessions run and what they cost and qualifications, registration and ethics.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
There is no room here; Bradley works from Hove and Lincoln is served entirely online. In a county this spread out that removes the single biggest obstacle, which is getting two working people into the same building at the same time. You can share one screen, or log in separately when one of you is away for the week. Coming on your own is fine, and quite a few people begin that way before a partner joins.

Relationship Counselling in Lincoln
The usual reason is not a crisis. It is that the two of you have become efficient and distant, or that trust has been damaged and the subject is now unapproachable, or that one of you has been drinking more since the work changed and neither of you says so. In Lincoln, 20.5% of adults reported a high anxiety score in 2022/23, below the England average of 23.8%, though a self-reported measure in a rural county with long distances to services is not a full picture. The work itself is slow and quite ordinary. One repeating argument gets taken apart until the actual request underneath is audible, and then we test in small ways whether things can be different. Lincolnshire Talking Therapies takes self-referrals, and We Are With You, Lincolnshire covers drug and alcohol support if drink has become the third presence in the house.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Private sessions with me usually mean you can start sooner and stay with the same counsellor throughout; I am glad to work alongside any NHS or GP support you already have.

Lincoln questions
It can, and online is what makes it possible. A session runs from a hotel room or a site cabin as easily as from the kitchen, so the fortnight away no longer means a fortnight without progress. We would set the pattern around the rota rather than around a building.
You pay once for the appointment, not once each. Sixty minutes costs £80, ninety costs £100 and a two-hour session is £120. Where two people need to be heard properly, ninety minutes is generally the realistic choice. Before anything gets booked there is a free 15-minute conversation to see whether this suits you.
Lincolnshire Talking Therapies is the NHS Talking Therapies service for the county and takes self-referrals without a GP. It works on anxiety and depression rather than the couple, so it may suit one of you individually. Waits vary across a large county, and using both routes together is normal.
Not at all, and it is one of the reasons online matters here. A decent internet connection is the only requirement, and there is no drive into the city after work. If your connection is unreliable, we plan for that rather than letting a dropout end the session.
That is not something anyone can judge from the outside, and it is not the question this work answers. What it does is slow you both down enough to see what is actually happening between you. What you then decide about staying together stays entirely with the two of you.
Yes. One of the advantages of online counselling is that distance stops mattering. Whether you are in the city or out in a village across Lincolnshire, you and your partner can meet by video together from home, with no long drive in, just a private space and a connection.
Online relationship counselling in Lincoln has no waiting list. We start with a free 15-minute consultation, and once you and your partner agree a weekly time, sessions can begin soon after. From Bailgate to Uphill or Birchwood, the work is arranged entirely by video.
Lincoln couples can self-refer free to NHS Talking Therapies, though a wait is common. My private fees are £80 for an hour, 100 for 90 minutes and 120 for two hours, after a free 15-minute consultation. Many couples go private to be seen sooner.
With Lincoln's rural county meaning long journeys, online spares the travel. Partners can join from separate places, one in Ermine and one from work, and evening slots outside standard hours are often available for couples in and around the city.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
