Online Anxiety Counselling · Woking

In and around Woking
Life in Woking
A great deal of life in Woking is organised around the train. The line to Waterloo takes barely half an hour, which is a considerable convenience and a quiet trap: the working day stretches to fill the travelling, and evenings shrink to whatever is left over. Anxiety in that arrangement rarely has one obvious cause. It accumulates instead. A tight chest before the first meeting, a phone checked at eleven, a Sunday that is really only a run-up to Monday. There are demanding employers here too, from the McLaren Technology Centre outwards. In Goldsworth Park or Knaphill you can look entirely settled and still be running on adrenaline from Monday morning to Friday night.

The local picture
Official figures for Woking, for context rather than as a description of you.
27.3% of adults reported a high anxiety score in 2022/23, above the England average of 23.8%. Source: OHID Fingertips – Self-reported wellbeing: high anxiety score (2022/23).

Anxiety counselling here is practical and solution-focused: we work on the worry, panic, social anxiety and over-thinking that are actually affecting your day, and on simple ways to settle a nervous system stuck on high alert.
Because the work itself is the same wherever you live, the detail sits in one place rather than all of them: the main anxiety counselling page sets out the methods, how sessions run and what they cost covers the practicalities, and my credentials and registration covers accountability.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Bradley is in Hove, so Woking sessions run online by secure video with nothing to travel to. In a town where the day is already shaped by a timetable, that removes the reason most people never start. The hour can go early, at lunch, or once you are home, and it does not depend on being back by any particular time. Somewhere with a door that shuts is all the arrangement really needs.

Anxiety Counselling in Woking
People here usually make contact when the worry has stopped being background noise: sleep going, irritability at home, more and more effort required for things that used to be ordinary. The work is practical and focused on what actually changes. We begin with the physiology, because a pounding heart and shallow breathing follow rules and can be settled deliberately. Then we take the avoidance apart in graded steps, so the presentation, the crowded carriage or the difficult call stops setting the boundaries of your week. Locally, 27.3% of adults reported a high anxiety score in 2022/23, well above the England average of 23.8%, which is worth knowing if you have assumed everybody else finds this easy. Mind Matters Surrey is the NHS Talking Therapies service here and takes self-referrals, and Woking Mind offers support in the town.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Woking questions
Usually within a week or two. The free 15-minute call is set for a time that suits your travelling, before it or after it, and there is nothing to arrange through a GP first. No referral, no assessment, and no waiting list to be added to.
Sixty minutes comes to £80, ninety minutes to £100 and two hours to £120. Anxiety work usually needs no more than the hour. The first 15-minute conversation costs nothing, and each session is paid for on the day, so nothing is committed in advance.
You can refer yourself to it directly, without a GP appointment, provided you are registered with a surgery in England. It is the NHS Talking Therapies service for this area and covers anxiety and low mood. Waits vary, and using both routes together is common.
It does, and evening slots exist for exactly that reason. There is no travelling on top of it, so a late hour costs you nothing extra. Some people take the session once the house is quiet; others use a spare room before the day begins.
Extremely. Pressure absorbed all day tends to get released where it feels safest, which is why families often see it first. We work on the anxiety at its source and on what happens in the evenings, rather than as two separate problems.
It can be. A relentless London-facing pace can keep the body braced without any single trigger. Counselling helps you unpick where that tension comes from and ease it, held online around the train and the working day so it is genuinely sustainable.
Usually within a week. Bradley works online with Woking people, from Horsell and Knaphill to Goldsworth Park, so the daily commute to Waterloo need not get in the way. After a free fifteen-minute consultation, a first anxiety session follows within days.
Sessions are £80 for sixty minutes, £100 for ninety and £120 for two hours, with a free fifteen-minute consultation first. You can self-refer free to Mind Matters Surrey, though waits vary, so some Woking clients start privately to be seen sooner.
For those commuting into London, online saves a further trip once the train gets home. Bradley offers some evening slots to fit around long working days, and the Hove practice room is reachable by train if you would prefer to meet in person.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
