Anxiety Counselling · Lewes
Anxiety Counselling for Lewes and the surrounding area, in person or online. Lewes, the historic county town of East Sussex, is famous for its castle, steep twittens, Harveys Brewery and Bonfire night. From my room in nearby Hove I offer a calm, confidential space to do this work.

In and around Lewes
Lewes is the county town of East Sussex and home to East Sussex County Council (County Hall), Lewes Castle and Harvey's Brewery.
Life in Lewes
Lewes wears its history openly, from the Norman castle above the rooftops to the steep twittens, Keere Street and the Cliffe High Street below, with Harveys Brewery scenting the air by the Ouse. The county town of East Sussex is proudly independent, famous for its Bonfire celebrations and its lively cultural life, ringed by the Downs and the Priory ruins. It is a close, engaged community where faces are quickly known, which can make discretion feel valuable when life is hard. A confidential counselling room over the Downs in Hove offers that privacy, reached quickly by road or a direct train, and online sessions provide the same support from home.

Anxiety counselling here is practical and solution-focused: we work on the worry, panic, social anxiety and over-thinking that are actually affecting your day, and on simple ways to settle a nervous system stuck on high alert.
The approach is the same wherever you come from, so rather than repeat it on every page you can read it in full, the methods, what each session covers and fees, on the main anxiety counselling page and on how I work.
Sessions take place in a private, comfortable room at Intergen House on Western Road in central Hove, held to the strict BACP confidentiality you would expect. We begin with a free fifteen-minute call to check we are a good fit, and the same sessions are available by secure video if travelling is difficult or you would simply prefer it.
From Lewes the room is around twenty minutes by car on the A27 towards Brighton and Hove. There is also a fast, frequent direct train from Lewes to Brighton, where you continue a couple of stops to Hove, then a short walk to Western Road. There is parking near the room. Online video sessions are always available when travelling in is difficult.

Yes. We work on what happens in your body when anxiety spikes and rehearse practical ways to settle it, which translates well to video sessions you do from a place you already feel safe.
That is common and completely workable. We can start with the camera off, keep early sessions short and build up at your pace; many anxious clients find home the easiest place to begin.
It varies, but solution-focused work often makes a difference within a handful of sessions. We review together rather than committing you to an open-ended course.

Both suit anxiety. In a town where faces are quickly known, some value the discreet room over the Downs, while others, especially with social anxiety, prefer video from home. You can mix the two, and evening and weekend slots fit around a busy week.
