Online Relationship Counselling · Northampton

In and around Northampton
Life in Northampton
Plenty of people came to Northampton because a house was affordable here and not where they were before. What that costs is a long commute out of town and a set of friendships left ninety minutes behind you. Meanwhile the distribution and logistics sector runs to hours that have nothing to do with anyone's evening, so one of you is leaving at four in the morning and the other is getting in at seven at night. In Duston, Wootton and Ecton Brook that pattern is everywhere. The partnership ends up carrying every social and emotional need between two people who barely overlap, and eventually something gives, usually quietly.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The method travels; only the geography changes. the relationship counselling page explains it properly, how sessions run and what they cost answers the practical questions, and professional standards and registration shows how the practice is held to account.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Because Bradley is in Hove there is no room in this town, and couples work runs by secure video instead. That fits an economy built on shifts and commuting: a slot can sit early, late, or on a rest day, and it does not require either of you to drive anywhere afterwards. Use one screen between you or two separate logins. If your partner is not willing yet, you can still begin on your own and see what shifts.

Relationship Counselling in Northampton
People rarely book after one dramatic event. They book because the same row keeps reassembling itself, or because affection has drained out of the week without anyone noticing, or because one partner's drinking has quietly become the thing the household organises around. Money and hours do much of the damage where work is this fragmented. So does low mood: 19.7% of adults in Northampton reported a high anxiety score in 2022/23, below the England average of 23.8%, which is a self-report and misses everyone who would not say it to a stranger. The work is patient and unspectacular. We slow one recurring exchange down until the request inside the complaint is audible, look honestly at where trust went, and test repair in small pieces. Self-referral to NHS Northamptonshire Talking Therapies is open to either of you, and STAR Northamptonshire is the single front door for drug and alcohol support.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Northampton questions
There usually is, and it is worth being specific on the free 15-minute call. Early mornings before a shift and later evenings both exist, and because nobody travels, a session can start the moment you are free rather than an hour afterwards. Rest days often work best of all.
One charge, for the appointment. That is £80 for sixty minutes, £100 for ninety and £120 for a full two hours, regardless of whether one or both of you is present. Couples usually want ninety minutes so neither voice gets squeezed. That opening 15-minute call is not charged for.
Self-referral to NHS Northamptonshire Talking Therapies is straightforward and does not need a GP, but the service works with anxiety and depression rather than relationships as such. It may help one partner individually while couple work happens elsewhere. Waits change through the year, and combining the two is common.
It happens, and it is better than skipping the session. What matters is that you are stationary, that you can speak without being overheard, and that the signal holds. If those are not possible, we would rather move the appointment than have you half-present in it.
It turns into one. When two people are each other's entire support, ordinary irritations swell because there is nowhere else for them to land. Part of the work is looking honestly at what the move cost you both, and what a life outside the pair could realistically look like here.
Yes. When a couple has few friends or family nearby, the relationship can end up carrying too much. Counselling offers an outside space to ease that. Sessions are online and times can flex around shift work, so you meet together from home without extra travel to fit in.
Online relationship counselling for Northampton couples has no waiting list. We open with a free 15-minute consultation, and once a weekly time suits you both, sessions can start soon after. Whether home is in Far Cotton, Kingsthorpe or Abington, it is all arranged by video.
Northampton couples can self-refer free to NHS Talking Therapies, though waits are common. Private sessions with me are £80 for 60 minutes, 100 for 90 and 120 for two hours, after a free 15-minute consultation. Many choose private work to be seen sooner.
Partners can join from separate places, which suits a town built around commuting and logistics. One might log in from home in Duston while the other connects from a shift, and evening appointments outside the nine-to-five are often available.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
