Online Relationship Counselling · Manchester

In and around Manchester
Life in Manchester
Manchester rewards people who work hard and then quietly bills them for it. Couples in Ancoats, Chorlton or Levenshulme describe weeks where two busy careers, a long commute and a rent that keeps climbing leave about forty minutes of shared time a day, most of it spent on logistics. Nobody has done anything wrong. You simply stopped being interested in each other because there was no room left to be. Add the way this city fills your calendar with other people, and a couple can be surrounded and still have no proper conversation for a month. The row, when it eventually arrives, is about the dishwasher and not about the dishwasher at all.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The method travels; only the geography changes. everything on relationship counselling explains it properly, how I work, sessions and fees answers the practical questions, and my credentials and registration shows how the practice is held to account.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Sessions are online by video or phone, run from Hove, which fits a city where two people are rarely free at the same hour. There is nothing to cross town for and no appointment to build an evening around. You can join together from the flat, or separately if one of you is at the office or working late in the studio. Early morning and evening slots both exist, and either of you can start alone.

Relationship Counselling in Manchester
Couples here mostly bring the same underlying complaint: we are on the same team and we never speak. Constant low-level worry drives a lot of it, and it is measurable, with 24% of adults reporting a high anxiety score in 2022/23, above the England average of 23.8%. Worry about money and work makes people either controlling or absent, and both feel like the other person has stopped caring. We look at what happens in the twenty minutes after one of you gets home, at how a disagreement escalates, and at the specific repairs that work for you two rather than in general. Where trust has been broken, we work on what rebuilding it actually requires. Manchester Talking Therapies is the free NHS route for individual anxiety and low mood, and Change Grow Live Manchester covers drug and alcohol support.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Manchester questions
Usually early, before the day starts, or later in the evening once things have settled. Online removes travel from both ends, so the commitment is genuinely an hour rather than a whole evening. If a week is impossible we move that session instead of cancelling the work.
The fee is by session length: £80 for 60 minutes, £100 for 90, £120 for two hours, whether one or both of you attend. Ninety minutes is what most couples end up choosing. There is a free 15-minute consultation before you commit to anything at all.
It is free, takes self-referrals and works with individuals rather than pairs, focusing on anxiety and depression. Many couples use it for one partner's own difficulties whilst bringing the relationship here. There is no conflict in doing both at the same time.
A bedroom with the door shut and headphones works for most people. So does a car. Voice-only sessions are fine if a video call would be awkward in a shared house. Nothing about this requires a study or a spare room to be workable.
Yes. Some couples use this to work out whether there is something worth rebuilding, and a few conclude there is not. Doing that thinking deliberately, with both of you present, is usually kinder than drifting apart over another two years.
Yes. We meet together on one secure video call, whether you're side by side or joining from different places across the city. Many Manchester couples find it easier to speak honestly from home than in an unfamiliar office, and there's no travel to arrange around work.
Usually within a week or two. I am based in Hove and see Manchester couples online, so there is no waiting list to join. We begin with a free fifteen-minute call to check the fit, then book a first session at a time that suits you both, whether you are in Chorlton or Didsbury.
Relationship work usually suits the ninety-minute session at £100, though the standard sixty minutes is £80. NHS Talking Therapies in Manchester tends to focus on individual support, so couples often come to me privately instead. The first fifteen-minute consultation is free, with no obligation to continue.
Yes. Because everything is online, one of you can join from your Manchester home and the other from work or away, and we still meet together as a couple. Evenings tend to suit best once the day settles, and I hold a regular slot so it stays a steady point in your week.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
