Online Relationship Counselling · Huddersfield
Online relationship counselling for Huddersfield, by secure video. From a base in Hove I work with people across Huddersfield, from the town centre and the station to the streets around the mills, with the same BACP-registered, confidential support as an in-person session, and no journey.

In and around Huddersfield
Life in Huddersfield
Distance is not always emotional. Couples in the valleys around Golcar, Milnsbridge and Berry Brow can find that half an hour of hill road between work and home eats the part of the evening they used to have together. Add shift patterns and a second job, and you get a partnership run largely by text message. Huddersfield holds a lot of that: households where nothing has gone wrong and nothing much is shared any more. The University of Huddersfield brings a younger population through the middle of the town every year and the streets look busy, which has very little to do with whether the two of you have talked about anything real since the summer.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The method travels; only the geography changes. the relationship counselling page explains it properly, how sessions run and what they cost answers the practical questions, and my BACP registration shows how the practice is held to account.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Huddersfield is covered by video from Hove. For two people whose weeks do not line up, that removes the hardest practical problem at a stroke, because the appointment does not need both of you in one building at one time. Join together or separately, from the house, from work or from a parked car. Individual sessions are equally available, and a good number of people never bring a partner in at all.

Relationship Counselling in Huddersfield
Relationship counselling here works with couples and with people on their own, and both are entirely ordinary. High anxiety was reported by 25.9% of adults in 2022/23, above the England average of 23.8%, and anxiety at that pitch is rarely a private matter. It shows up as short answers, cancelled plans and a partner who has learned to tread carefully. Recorded depression reached 15.6% of patients aged 18+ on GP registers in 2024/25, above the England average of 14.3%. The work begins with what actually passes between you when it goes wrong, because that is where the pattern is visible, and moves to what each of you learned about conflict and closeness before you ever met. Where drink has become part of the problem, CHART Kirklees is the local drug and alcohol service. NHS Talking Therapies takes self-referrals in England.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.
Book a free 15-minute callMy online counselling sits alongside the help available locally. In Huddersfield, you can refer yourself directly to NHS talking therapies for anxiety and depression, with no GP referral needed. You can find support through the NHS Talking Therapies finder.
Private sessions with me usually mean you can start sooner and stay with the same counsellor throughout; I am glad to work alongside any NHS or GP support you already have.

This is not a crisis service. If anyone is in immediate danger call 999. For urgent mental health support, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option. The Samaritans are free, day or night, on 116 123, or text SHOUT to 85258.
Huddersfield questions
Usually within a week or two of the free 15-minute call, which comes first and costs nothing. There is no referral and no list. Evening slots are the most requested, so it helps to say early what times actually work around your shifts and the drive home.
No. The fee is for the hour, not the head count: £80 for 60 minutes, £100 for 90 minutes and £120 for 120 minutes. Two people often use a longer appointment, since an hour splits into two half-hours faster than you would think. The first consultation, 15 minutes, is free.
In England you can refer yourself to NHS Talking Therapies directly, though it works with individuals and not with couples, and there is normally a wait. CHART Kirklees covers drug and alcohol difficulties in the town if that is part of what is happening between you.
Sometimes, and it has to be agreed openly rather than arranged quietly. Individual sessions inside couples work can be useful, but they change the ground rules about what is confidential from whom. If we do it, we set out beforehand exactly how information will be handled.
Very much so. Where an argument reliably happens tells us something about what sets it off, and a car at the end of a long day is a classic setting: tired, confined, with no way for either of you to leave. We use details like that rather than treating them as background.
Yes. Because sessions run by video from Hove, where you live in the Colne or Holme valley makes no difference, there's no slow drive into town for either partner. You both join from home, or wherever each of you can speak freely, at a time that suits.
Usually within a week or two of a free 15-minute consultation. I am based in Hove and meet Huddersfield couples securely online, from Marsh to Almondbury, so the steep valleys and outlying villages are no barrier and there is no waiting list to join.
Most couples choose 90 minutes at £100, or 60 minutes at £80. Relate and NHS services in Huddersfield can cost less but often involve a wait, while private online work lets us start sooner and keep a reliable weekly time for you both.
Yes. Because we meet by video there is no drive down into Huddersfield, so distance from the town matters little. We can join together or from two places if one of you is away, and I keep some evening slots for busy weeks.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
