In and around Dundee
Life in Dundee
Dundee has two weathers. There is the waterfront version, the design museum and the studios, the graduate posts in games and research; and there is the version up in Hilltown and Fintry where the rent is late and the shifts are whatever the app offers this week. Couples often live in both at once, one partner salaried at the University of Dundee and the other picking up hours that change every Sunday night. Money is the fault line, but it is rarely what the arguments appear to be about. What surfaces instead is the washing up, the phone, the tone of voice at half past ten on a Wednesday night.

Relationship counselling here, for couples or individuals, slows down the pattern you are caught in and builds healthier ways of hearing and being heard.
The method travels; only the geography changes. the main relationship counselling page explains it properly, how I work, sessions and fees answers the practical questions, and my BACP registration shows how the practice is held to account.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Bradley is in Hove and there is no room in Dundee, so sessions run online. For couples that removes the logistics which usually kill the idea: no childcare to arrange around a particular building, no bus across town after work, no whole evening written off. You can meet from the flat once the children are down. If one of you is working away, or living apart for now, you can still be in the same session from two different places.

Relationship Counselling in Dundee
Couples come for the ordinary reasons and one local one. The ordinary reasons are distance, resentment, a trust that got broken, a sex life nobody will mention. The local one is insecure work: when one person's hours are decided by someone else each week, the household cannot plan, and a partnership that cannot plan begins to argue about everything except the thing itself. Some couples arrive because one of them is drinking through the evenings and the other has run out of ways to raise it. We work on the mechanics of exactly that: how the conversation opens, why it always ends the same way, what each of you is protecting. Both of you attending is not a condition. Alongside private work, your GP can refer you to NHS psychological therapies, NHS inform carries trusted self-help, and Breathing Space is free on 0800 83 85 87.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Dundee questions
Private sessions usually begin within a week or two of the free consultation, which is the main practical difference from a referral. There is no assessment panel and no list to join. We arrange a first appointment, and if the time does not suit you both we find one that does.
Per session. One hour is £80 whether one of you comes or both of you do. Ninety minutes at £100 gives a couple more room and is often the better choice early on; two hours is £120. The initial 15-minute consultation is free, and arranging things costs nothing.
Here you go through your GP, who can make a referral to NHS psychological therapies. NHS inform is a reliable source of self-help while you wait for that, and Breathing Space is free on 0800 83 85 87 in the evenings. None of it prevents you starting privately at the same time.
You can come on your own, which is often where this begins. We look at what the drinking has done to the two of you, what you have already tried, and what you are willing to live with. For the drinking itself, We Are With You, Dundee works with people in the city.
A bedroom with the door shut and both of you on headphones works better than the living room does. If a neighbour is close, music in the hall helps far more than whispering. Some couples take the session in the car with a phone propped up, which is private and surprisingly workable.
Not necessarily. It is often best to sit together, but if one of you is working or studying away, you can each join from your own screen. The important thing is that you are both present for the hour, wherever in Dundee you happen to be.
Usually within a week or two. We begin with a free 15-minute consultation, then book your first session at a time that suits you both. Everything is by secure video across Dundee, from the West End to Broughty Ferry, so there is no waiting list and nothing to travel to.
Sessions are £80 for an hour, £100 for 90 minutes and £120 for two hours, after a free 15-minute consultation. NHS Tayside rarely offers dedicated couples work and waits can be long, so many Dundee couples choose private online sessions to be seen sooner and set their own pace.
Yes. Evening slots are available, and because sessions run by secure video you can join together from home or from two different places if work keeps you apart. That flexibility suits Dundee couples balancing shifts, study and family across the city.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.
