In and around Slough
Life in Slough
Some things have been running much longer than the current problem. Growing up as the one who translated, or the one who held the household together, or the child of parents who arrived with nothing and could not afford to look back, teaches a set of lessons that keep operating decades later. You are capable and dependable, and privately you cannot rest, cannot ask for anything, and cannot shake the feeling that stopping would be a betrayal. Slough has generations of families built on exactly that effort. What eventually brings people to longer work is not a crisis but a recognition: this is not the job, and it did not begin here.

Psychotherapy here goes a little deeper and usually a little longer than counselling, into the patterns, beliefs and early relationships that shape how you feel now, so change is understood at the root and holds.
Because the work itself is the same wherever you live, the detail sits in one place rather than all of them: everything on psychotherapy sets out the methods, how I work, sessions and fees covers the practicalities, and professional standards and registration covers accountability.
Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link, held to the same BACP confidentiality as meeting in person. After a free fifteen-minute call, you join from any private space on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Depth work depends on a weekly hour that holds, and online sessions from Hove protect it from the things that usually break long-term therapy: a changed shift, an overtime week, a house move within the town. Nothing has to be rebooked around travel. Over a year or more that steadiness is what allows harder material to surface at all. If work takes you elsewhere in the country, the hour goes with you rather than ending.

When the same difficulty keeps returning in different forms.
How early bonds still shape the way you connect now.
Working with a harsh inner voice and a shaky sense of self.
When something unresolved keeps replaying beneath the surface.
Understanding the root, not just quieting the symptom.
Insight that holds, so change does not slip back.
Psychotherapy in Slough
Longer therapy goes after something a short course cannot reach. Not what has happened lately, but why one pattern keeps reassembling itself, and what you learned early about duty, worth and how much of yourself it is safe to show. A year of weekly sessions is a normal length, sometimes longer, and the middle is often harder than the first few months. It fits people who have already used brief therapy sensibly and found the same difficulty waiting on the other side of it. Emergency hospital admissions for self-harm ran at 65.1 per 100,000 in 2023/24 here, well below the England average of 117 per 100,000, and in a town where asking for help is often discouraged, a low figure is not the same as a settled population. NHS Berkshire Talking Therapies remains free and self-referring, and it does the brief, structured version well.
Not sure if it is right for you? A free fifteen-minute call is a no-obligation way to talk it through.

Slough questions
Plan in months rather than sessions. Weekly work over a year is the usual pattern, sometimes longer, and we review it together every few months so it never runs on by default. Stopping is your decision and can be made whenever the work feels done.
There is nothing to spread, because you pay for one session at a time and never in advance. You would pay £80 / 60 min, £100 / 90 min or £120 / 120 min. Raise money at the free 15-minute consultation, and we can talk about frequency rather than stopping.
Almost never. NHS Berkshire Talking Therapies is free and takes self-referrals, but its courses are short and focused on the present. That is worth using in its own right. Depth work is what people come to afterwards, when the same thing keeps returning.
No. Nothing is shared with anyone without your agreement, and there is no appointment card, no building and no letter home. Many people here do this work for a year without discussing it at home, and that is a legitimate choice rather than a deception.
It can, and it is often the most useful place to start. Being permanently reliable usually began as a solution to something, and it has costs that nobody around you sees. Understanding where it came from tends to make it a choice rather than an obligation.
Coping addresses the symptoms; longer-term therapy looks at why you cannot ease off in the first place. For many in Slough that means understanding the patterns beneath the relentless busyness, so that rest becomes possible rather than forever postponed, with the online format keeping it convenient.
Soon, and without a waiting list. After a free 15-minute consultation we agree a regular weekly time and begin, usually within a week or two. The longer work is held securely online from home, so a hard-working week around the Trading Estate need not interrupt open-ended therapy.
Sessions are £80 for 60 minutes, with 90 and 120-minute options at £100 and £120, after a free 15-minute consultation. NHS therapy tends to be shorter-term and can involve a wait, whereas open-ended private work with Bradley continues for as long as it stays useful.
It can. Where the effort of getting established in a demanding town quietly accumulates, longer therapy looks beneath the tiredness at the patterns underneath. Online sessions keep the same weekly time whatever the working week brings, with nothing to travel to, so the work can go deeper.
A free fifteen-minute call is the simplest place to start, no obligation, just a chance to see if we are the right fit.

If psychotherapy is not quite what you are looking for, counselling and therapy, depression counselling and trauma counselling may fit better in Slough.
