It counts. Cost, quality and setting change how a habit looks, not what it does. Good wine drunk alone every evening affects sleep, mood and health exactly as anything else would, and the respectability of it often delays people asking for years.
Can I do this without it affecting a professional registration?
This is private counselling, so there is no automatic report to any regulator, employer or professional body, and I do not write to your GP unless you ask. The only limit on that is a serious and immediate risk to someone's life.
